The importance of checking your corner's in FPS games
Corner checking is a classic tactic in FPS games that players use in order to ensure that as they move through buildings they do not get eliminated by enemies sitting in corner's. Typically when people think of player's who sit in corners they scream "CORNER CAMPERS!". Yes, this is typically the case when playing in regular pubs but if you decide to play in competitive lobbies this is simply a tactic some high level players use who position themselves strategically with their teammates in order get eliminations. This is seen quite often in Call of Duty's "Hardpoint" mode.
We recommend combing the tactic of checking your corner's with other tactics such as slide cancelling, pre-firing, or using explosives. There are many other options besides these three, get creative! (ie: wallbanging). Using these techniques will help give you an advantage in gunfights, and the more you corner check the more it is likely to become second nature, preventing you from getting killed by players who sit in corner's.
